Bringing Julia Donaldson's Story To Life

In 2016 we collaborated with Communities First and 200 pupils at Ysgol Pendref in Denbigh to bring The Gruffalo Project to life based around this fantastic children’s story by Julia Donaldson.

An intensive week of workshops at the school culminated in a retelling of the story at Theatr Twm O’r Nant, Denbigh.

Using our theatre skills we were able to work together as an ensemble, build relationships within year groups, and increase confidence and self-esteem.

For many of the children it was the first time that they had stepped foot in a theatre, let alone perform on the stage in front of their family and friends.

This piece formed the backbone of The Denbigh Workshop’s engagement strategy for this year.
